Dear VA friends and partners,

On behalf of Venture Avenue, I would like to thank you for your accompany in 2013, and wish you and your family a prosperous 2014.

2013 has been another great year for VA – many great moments to remember. I would like to share with you some key milestones that we have achieved:

• Completed 36 independent evaluations and 9 strategic planning services in China. Evaluation expertise expanded to the government sector
• As one of the 6 social investors, Yu Venture Philanthropy joined “social investment platform” organized by the British Council; received 200+ applications and shortlisted 3 final candidates for RMB1.5M investment
• Completed holistic CSR services to 4 major multinational and domestic partners, from CSR strategy formulation to core program design and PMO (Project Management Office)
• Continued pushing the “Phoenix Project” – to connect 4 leading social enterprises with leading CSR to provide in-depth incubation services; partnered with the Boston Consulting Group’s “Social Impact Team” to provide year-long incubation services to 2 high-potential social enterprises
• Completed an independent “China social investment study” out of extensive desktop research and interviews with key opinion leaders, and provided consultation to a major international foundation
• Spoke at “Social Enterprise Summit (Hong Kong)”, “The Social Impact Investment Roundtable 2013” over topics of impact investing and social enterprise development

Looking back into 2013, I feel proud that VA team has been continuing to fulfill our mission of “empowering philanthropy”. We look forward to another great year with your support!
